  • Tournament Dollars (T$) - Players will now have the option to un-register from satellites they have qualified for and will receive the equivalent buy-in in T$, which they can use to enter any other tournament or Sit & Go on our site. T$ can even be combined with real money to buy into tournaments, and can be exchanged for real money through the Cashier.
New Features
  • Auto Top-Up and Sit Out Next BB - If players decide to set their buy-in at a default level and their stack falls below that limit, Auto Top-Up will automatically add chips before the start of the next hand. Players at speed tables will now be able to choose to be dealt out from the next blind from any position at the table by ticking the Sit Out Next BB.
  • Player Notes in Main Lobby - If a player clicks on a ring game table, they’ll be able to see if they have notes on the seated players along with the color code they assigned. Color code indicators will also be available in all tournament and Sit & Go lobbies. Players will also be able to roll their mouse over a player’s name and see the notes they have made.

Doyles Room Review

The history of poker - where did it come from?

March 5, 2008

The history of poker is not exactly clear until this date and then it is still even confusing and hard to understand. There are so many different stories trying to justify the history of the poker game. We do know, however, that the poker beginning dates all the way back before Jesus Christ, thousands of years ago. What we know as poker has changed many times over. The game itself used to only have 3 cards and did not have suits like we know today. Trading from kingdom to kingdom is what allowed card games and poker in general to become the popular game it is today.
Poker history and all the texas holdem poker games have developed extremely over the years. This game was once the choice of thieves, pirates and people with lower than normal ethics. Poker became associated with smoke filled rooms and dirty street clubs come the turn of the century. The idea of poker has changed these days, the smoke rooms are limited and not allowed by most poker halls, there are professional poker announcers, there are so many tournaments available through the internet now, the world poker tour, the wsop, poker training is now a game about skill, not luck.
Today’s poker is tomorrow’s poker history and it seems to have features to receive a welcome from all classes of people. People are simply beginning to love poker.

Poker history tracks back to times when the game was played with real money, later on it was replaced with clay chips and now it has graduated to being played with metal chips, plastic chips etcetera. The traditional concept of money and bet still remains, but it has just undergone some modifications in betting structure and strategies.

Poker history has expressed probability from the following:-
• Domino cards that were used by the Chinese
• As Nas Persian card games
• Ganjifa Indian card games
• Poque French card games
• Primero Spanish card games

These are some of the common card games associated with games tracking back to old age resemblance to poker. The poker history relating to the term poker is also quite confusing and related to many things like:-
• The name could have been because it was played by pickpockets it is called poker
• Could have been derived from the Indian term Pukka
• Could have been derived from the French term Poque
• Could have been derived from the German term Pochspiel
• Could have been derived form the words used by magicians like hocus-pocus

What ever could be the poker history, there is one thing common in all these games and that is betting and tricking to win the game. All other forms of poker games are not widely played in every country. The current age card game with 52 decks is being played throughout the world these days.
